Inviting me to speak:

If you would like to invite me to do a keynote, speak, or teach at your conference, event, or retreat, please contact my speaker’s agent Beth Quittman at Samara Lectures.

Have a look at excerpts from a Crow Planet speaking engagements here, my Mozart’ Starling book launch, and my TedX Rainier talk, “Encountering the Everyday Wilderness.”

A couple of  responses from the organizers of  previous events:
Lyanda Haupt has the rare ability to engage a mixed audience, impressing professionals with her knowledge and expertise, and charming the amateurs with her warmth and enthusiasm.
William B. Ashworth, Jr., The Linda Hall Library of Science, Engineering & Technology
When the Washington Library Association was looking for keynote speakers for our annual conference, Lyanda came highly recommended due to the quality and popularity of her books. I was delighted when it turned out that she is a first rate presenter. Lyanda used gentle yet dynamic storytelling in a way that had a banquet hall full of librarians laughing, crying and wistfully sighing.

For Book Groups:

I support everything about book clubs: literature, community, gossip, pretending-to-read-while-sipping-wine, and the grassroots chance to connect with readers. If your book group is reading Mozart’s Starling, and we can figure out a time that works for you and for me, then I will be happy to join your group via Skype for half an hour or so. And no guarantees, but if it is daylight in Seattle, Carmen the starling is likely to be sitting on my shoulder. For book group inquiries, please email
